On Friday, September 26, 2025, the CEO of House of Charcoal, Asep Jembar Mulyana, was invited as a special guest at the business talkshow Syariah-preneur “Naik Kelas”, organized by the Indonesian Muslim Entrepreneurs Community (KPMI) Bogor Chapter, held at Galeria Hybrid Syariah, Vivo Mall Sentul Bogor.
In this session, Asep delivered an insightful presentation on “Optimizing Export Potential and Halal Financing in the Digital Era.”
He shared his personal journey, from experiencing transmigration and facing hardships in Jakarta, to eventually establishing House of Charcoal as one of the leading coconut shell briquette companies in Indonesia.
Asep emphasized that poverty is not a barrier to progress, highlighting that Islam guarantees success as a right for everyone. For him, business must always be aligned with faith and values. He holds firmly to the principle:
“Chase the world, and the hereafter will stay away. Chase the hereafter, and you will attain it — and the world will follow you.”
The event began with Asep’s presentation, followed by an engaging Q&A session with participants.
He also underlined the importance of creating products that can convince both ourselves and others that they are truly exceptional. According to him, success is a life choice, and running a business requires consistency (istiqomah) and perseverance (ikhtiar).
Asep gave his own life as an example — having remained consistent and perseverant for over 20 years to achieve his current success.
The talkshow became a source of inspiration for entrepreneurs to keep striving, uphold Islamic values in business, and seize the growing opportunities in halal export and financing in today’s digital era.
